About Dallas Area Movers
Dallas Area Movers wasn’t born in a boardroom. It was born on a Saturday, hauling a couch up three flights of stairs for a friend who couldn’t find a mover worth trusting.
Colin McInerney and Matt Tillmann weren’t movers. They were two friends who met at the University of North Texas, always knew they wanted to build something together, and spent years working stable corporate jobs — Colin in physical therapy, Matt in accounting — waiting for the right idea.
It found them in the most unglamorous way possible: Friends kept asking them to help move because hiring a moving company had become a gamble. Movers who didn’t show up. Hidden fees that doubled the bill. Furniture that arrived damaged with zero accountability. Communication that went silent the moment a deposit was paid.
So they helped. Then again. And somewhere between the third trip up the stairs and a cold pizza at the end of the day, they looked at each other and said: we could actually do this better.
In 2020, amid the uncertainty of a pandemic, they stopped waiting and made a decision—to take the leap and bet on themselves. They started the DAM Moving Company with supplies piled in their cars, a rented U-Haul, and a lot of belief in what they were building. For three years, every single move was just the two of them. No crew. No trucks. Just two guys who showed up on time, worked hard, and treated every customer like they mattered.
That mentality never left. Today, Dallas Area Movers has grown into a successful small business with around 10 employees, a handful of trucks, and a 5-star reputation with hundreds of positive reviews. We’ve expanded our reach to serve every corner of the DFW Metroplex, from the high-rises of Uptown to the historic streets of Lakewood.
While our crew has grown, our commitment to safety and professionalism has scaled with it. We handle every move with a fully regulated fleet, maintaining strict TxDMV, USDOT, and FMCSA compliance to ensure your belongings are protected by the highest industry standards.
Our north star hasn’t changed: to take care of people—our customers and employees alike. That’s what DAM has been and always will be about. Great people — DAM good movers.
We hope to earn your trust, and ultimately your business. Please don’t hesitate to contact us today.

“The Dallas Area Movers not only moved my two-story apartment quickly, but was extremely respectful to both myself, and my property. They ensured my belongings were safe and secure in both the move down the stairs and during the hour-long drive to my next home. They moved with efficiency and helped reduce my stress of getting out of my apartment in time. I will definitely be using them again on my next move!”
